I was born in Missouri and I am as stubborn as a Missouri Mule…I don’t budge much when I get something into my head or shall I say, I feel strongly about a subject. I am getting increasingly stubborn about my opinions on tattoos and I will continue to blog about the subject and show my examples to prove my point. Feel free to leave comments as I love to argue have meaningful dialogs with people of opposing view points, men especially. On different tattoo women bashing forums, men keep taking the stance that “this tattoo” or “that place” is always trashy or skanky…Well, I’m a woman and I don’t think so. Just by the virtue of gender we should not be downgraded, especially by members of our own sex as well I might add, to be judged poorly simply by type or placement of a tattoo. Men do not have to worry about this as they can even tattoo their genitals and the only comment anyone seems to make is “OUCH!”
On one forum the men seemed to think that just about anywhere that a woman had a tattoo was “skanky'” and anything on their back was a “tramp stamp” or “California license plate”. I beg to differ, as I have stated before on my blog, this moniker really frosts my cookies and I would love to wipe out that stereotype for good. I placed the question to the men that if a woman having a tattoo on any part of her body that a man thinks is sexy, automatically makes it slutty or sexual because he perceives it that way, then do I get to make the assumption every time I see a man with a tattooed hand that he must use that hand for his self-gratification? Well you can guess the reaction I got on that one. But honestly, doesn’t it make about as much sense?
I know, I’m a mean old woman picking on these poor defenseless guys, but damn, men need to get over it and realize that woman are being tattooed and we do it for ourselves because we like it and if you do too great, if not, get over it. Women have put up with tattooed men for decades and some of those old tattoos were damn ugly. At least stop making it a sexual connotation for all of the tattoos that women get just because men have a hard time thinking with two heads a once.
For the ladies I offer my proof once again that no matter what you want on your back whether it be a lower back tattoo or a full back piece, go for it. You will still be lovely and feminine no matter what some of the idiots men think out there. Besides, what do they know anyway?
