Little old me:
I am a 54 year old married woman with a 30 year old daughter, a 27 year old son and a wonderful husband that I have had the pleasure of being married to for almost 35 years. The best part of my life is my wonderful family without whom I would not be able to survive. I love them all dearly as they put up with all my “craziness”.
Hubby and I travel around the Midwest doing our own business and we are happy on the road since we are together. We spent a lot of our younger years apart due to split and opposite shifts at work so we are enjoying this time alone together. Self Employment can be a wonderful thing…except at tax time, but that’s another story.

Well congrats! for having such a close knit family with two grown up individuals as your daughter and son, last but not the least, your husband of almost 35 years, in India we have this system of joint family, no matter what we try to stick it out together, in that we find solace, comfort, security and inter dependence, the elders are revered and respected, I am sure that must be the case within your family, having lasted so long, I am really happy to be acquainted with you , Iam 57 years, a son who is doing his engineering, my wife is no more, I am a widower, but living out life positively.
Visit my blog on

And how did you earn a living while raising your delightful family?
And how are you earning a living now?

I worked in the medical field for over 20 years and now I am semi-retired (early) and self-employed with my husband.

Hi Delaney, thanks for the comment. I hope that I can have a successful married life like yours. Your family is close to being a model one. It may not be perfect but we all know that there is no such thing in this world. I hope to be your friend…dette

Thank you Dette! We aren’t perfect but I have adult children that still actually like me and Hubby and I have been together for so long I don’t see it ending. We are lucky plus we work on it every day. Love and laugh as much as you can, at yourself and each other and you should do fine.
