Book Giveaway – Julie & Julia

Giveaway is now Closed!!!

julie julia poster

From the Hachette Books website:

Julie & Julia, the bestselling memoir that’s “irresistible….A kind of Bridget Jones meets The French Chef” (Philadelphia Inquirer), is now a major motion picture. Julie Powell, nearing thirty and trapped in a dead-end secretarial job, resolves to reclaim her life by cooking in the span of a single year, every one of the 524 recipes in Julia Child’s legendary Mastering the Art of French Cooking. Her unexpected reward: not just a newfound respect for calves’ livers and aspic, but a new life-lived with gusto. The film is written and directed by Nora Ephron and stars Amy Adams as Julie and Meryl Streep as Julia.

For more about the author, Julie Powell click here.

Now I don’t know if I would ever tackle something as daunting as cooking everything from any chef’s cookbook but I can say that I am very glad that Julie Powell did and wrote about it. This is a really fun read and I highly recommend it. This made me want to see the movie which should be very fun. Love Meryl Streep and she should be great as Julia Child.

You can buy it from Amazon.com or Barnes & Noble for $7.99

  1. Hello Delaney, it is wonderful to read your blog again.

I actually find cooking very relaxing, although like you don’t think I could tackle every recipe in a cook book.

I have no interest in any Michael Jackson books. It’s someone just trying to make a $$ in a good marketing opportunity. The man is dead and we’re not going to learn anything new.

But Ravens looks interesting. I actually had a similar idea on writing a book… after I win a lottery! :)

“The Host” by Stephenie Meyer should be an interesting read & “The Shack” by William Young looks good, too! Of course Nicholas Sparks can’t be beat so “The Last Song” will definitely be on my list of summer reads.
